If you are planning ahead for Coronado Island events, make sure you have your spot locked down early for the iconic Crown City Classic 12K/5K, the spectacular Coronado Fourth of July Parade, a breathtaking military parachute demonstration, live concerts in the park, and a jaw-dropping fireworks display over the glowing San Diego Bay.

⚠️ Local's Heads Up: Register Now for the Low Tide Ride & Stride! Looking just a little further down the summer calendar, the iconic Low Tide Ride & Stride is officially set for Saturday, July 18, 2026. This is a super unique, family-friendly 5K where you can run, walk, or bike along a scenic beach course from North Beach to the Shores and back—on the exact hard-packed sand the Navy SEALs use for training! It only happens during the absolute lowest tide of the month, and it ends with an epic after-party at Sunset Park. Early bird race prices go up after June 30, and proceeds support combat-wounded veterans and local first responders. Snag your registration now over at lowtideride.com

Bonus Local Perks: Our favorites over at Live Nado will be hosting an exclusive pop-up shop right at the event! You'll be able to grab some of their premium, custom race-day gear and high-quality coastal apparel to celebrate crossing the finish line.

The "Local's Choice"

The island rhythm—insider secrets you won't find in a standard tourist brochure.

Catch the Free Summer Shuttle

The best things in life are free, including a ride down Orange Avenue! Starting June 7, the city's beloved Free Summer Shuttle begins its seasonal route. Even better: it will be running extended service hours during the NASCAR weekend (June 19–21) so you can completely bypass the traffic madness. Jump on, save your gas, and cruise the island like a true local.

Low Tide Exploration

June serves up some phenomenal midday negative tides that completely reveal our local tide pools. Head to the mossy rocks directly in front of the Hotel del Coronado around 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM mid-month to find sea anemones and small crabs without getting your shoes soaked.

Local Pro-Tip

The NASCAR Weekend Hack: With thousands of racing fans heading toward NAS North Island from June 19–21, the bridge is going to be incredibly backed up. Do not drive over. Instead, park your car in downtown San Diego and hop on the Coronado Ferry over to the Landing. Rent an e-bike or hop straight onto the extended Free Summer Shuttle right from the docks. You’ll completely breeze past the gridlock, keep your sanity intact, and arrive at the beach with a cold drink in hand!
